San Diego, CA, Tuesday, November 24, 2009 - The San Diego Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (SDMPI) presented the first live Web-Cast educational program in Meeting Professionals International (MPI) history on Friday, November 20th at The Ivy Hotel.  This educational luncheon program, “Crucial Conversations: The Relationship between the Planner and Supplier “, outlined ways to help you navigate the crucial conversations we have in business and in our personal lives, everyday.   Opening comments for this historic event was made by Bruce McMillan, CEO of MPI, via the Web from his Dallas headquartered office.

Cricket Buchler, Master Trainer for VitalSmarts, facilitated the program to a sold out room.  “Her interactive approach and engaging personality made the learning experience enjoyable and easily applicable,” commented Carolyn Davis, CMP with Strategic Meeting Partners.

In addition to the program and web-cast, SDMPI honored Veteran’s Day with a collection of new or gently used towels and blankets for the Veteran’s Village of San Diego (VVSD).  The VVSD is dedicated to extending assistance to homeless veterans of all wars and their families by providing much needed basic services including job training and counseling to our local veterans.  The Target Store in Encinitas graciously donated a $50 gift card, which SDMPI used to buy new blankets and towels from the store.

“Making history by having continuing education available to everyone regardless of location, and partnering with our local Veterans to assist in their needs, was an exciting opportunity for the San Diego Chapter of MPI” said Holly Young, President of the San Diego MPI Chapter.  For more information on this program, as well as learning about other SDMPI educational and networking programs, please visit: www.sdmpi.org.
