The SDMPI Leadership Development team is passionate about engaging our members. Whether you’re a Past-President, long time member, or have recently joined, there is a way for you to get involved, that will enhance your leadership skills and grow your network.

The most common reason people cite for not joining a committee is their fear it will take up too much time. In the words of philosopher, Edmund Burke, “Nobody made a greater mistake, than he who did nothing, because he could do only a little.” There are volunteer opportunities starting at just 1 hour a month and flexible options to fit any schedule. Each member has a valuable contribution to make. Share your expertise with colleagues, learn new skills, and most importantly, grow your relationships in SDMPI by investing your time and serving on a committee.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPENINGS (as of 8/13/10)
Advertising – 2 volunteers needed to rotate at an advertising table at the monthly programs, to answer questions & educate members on advertising specials
Member Care - 1 student volunteer needed to assist with student membership renewal
Registration – 2-3 volunteers needed to rotate an monthly programs to assist with checking attendees in on-site, dispersing name badges, and collecting payment
Hospitality – 2 volunteers needed to design & implement fun ice breaker activities at monthly programs & assist with new member orientations
Holiday Event – 2 volunteers needed to secure donations for the silent auction
5K Fun Run – 2-5 volunteers needed for various committee tasks
