The foundation of success and
growth for the San Diego Chapter has been it’s many volunteers. Over the
years, it is the members of SDMPI that have created the valuable
educational opportunities, provided fertile networking arenas,
introduced new and interesting venues for events, freely given advice
and suggestions to one another, served as a source of support and
encouragement for MPI members experiencing employment challenges, and so
much more.
The leadership Task Force was formed to help develop and
encourage the future leaders of our chapter, and to recognize the hard
work and many hours our volunteers contribute to make our chapter a
better one for all of our members.
We want to continue the Star of the Month Award. This
award will be given to members who are making a significant contribution
to our chapter. The award is based in part on the ability of the
recipient to motivate others, stimulate volunteer activities, give a
sense of direction and acts as a catalyst to cause exceptional results
that benefit our chapter.
The
guidelines for the Star of the Month are:
- Nominees must have been involved in Chapter activities for a minimum
of six months
- Awards will be presented at the SDMPI monthly chapter meetings
- If no one has been extraordinary, no award will be given for that
month
- Nominations can be made by any committee or board member
- Current SDMPI board members are not eligible
- All Stars are automatically eligible for Planner or Supplier of the
Year
Take a look around your committee and carefully consider nominating
someone who has made a difference (a) in the way your committee works:

professionalism in the meeting industry.
Don’t sit around wishing someone would nominate your co-volunteer. Take
